Thank you so much for considering me for your photographer! I want to be able to capture those precious and memorable moments in your life. Which could be your first pregnancy or multiple pregnancies that you want to be able to remember. Or maybe it is your first born and you want to capture those precious first few weeks that they were born. Don't forget about baby number two and so on, you want to be able to get some wonderful pictures of big sis or big brother with their younger siblings. Family portraits are great to have hanging on your wall or give them out to friends and family members. It is always something you can look back at and remember that special occasion.
Family, Children & Maternity sessions usually run about 30 to 90 minutes. Mini sessions last approximately 30 minutes. Newborn last about 1-3 hours long. I am willing to work with everyone, I know things don't always go the way you want them to go especially with newborns and children. When you book a session I will ask you how many will be in the photo, what type of backgrounds or themes for in studio sessions and what location for the outdoor photos you are looking for, how many outfits will you be bringing, if any, and any additional props. I want to get a sense of what you are envisioning in the complete outcome of your session.
In a 30-90 minute session I usually will be able to do two different backgrounds or themes and multiple poses. In the mini sessions there will only be time for one background or themes. In the newborn sessions, if time allows me, and the babies work well, I could possibly do four to five different poses which would include different backgrounds, outfits and themes.
Note: When booking an appointment for newborns try to work around the baby's schedule, making it less stressful on the baby and mom. For example, schedule after nap or feeding time. I will work with the baby if for some reason they are extra fussy that is why the sessions are longer than others. Also, if the baby or children are sick, please call the studio and reschedule. If they are unhappy, your photos will not turn out as well as you would like.
When you want to book an appointment, please call the studio during business hours 2-3 weeks in advance. During the holiday season, please try to book appointments ahead of time because it can be very busy and I may not be available. When an appointment is booked, you will receive a welcome package with tons of information about your up and coming photo session.
My goal is to make your visit fun and relaxing because I want that to show through the photographs. I want to capture those precious and adorable moments so you can cherish them for a lifetime.
Thank you for your time and let’s have some fun!!!
What to Expect After Your Photo Session
What to Expect After Your Photo Session
Once the photo session is finished, I will take all of the photos and edit them, it usually takes about two to three weeks, depending on my busy season. I send a sneak peak of a few images of the photo shoot on my Facebook page a couple of days after the session. When all of the images are edited you will be notified by a phone call, messenger or email to view your photos on Pixieset which is an online gallery that you can view.
I will follow up with you within five to seven days after sending the information about your online gallery unless you notify me first of what your selections are for the print package or the digital package. You have the option to schedule an appointment to come to the studio to look over all of the pictures and decide on which photos you want. What to Wear
What to Wear
Wear solid colored clothing so that we see all of your faces and no one person stands out. If you wear stripes or flowers, you will stand out from the rest of your group.
Choose muted tones that are a bit subdued so that you are the subject not your clothes and you don’t stand out from the group. Bright colors project (especially reds, oranges, and yellows), which also makes you look larger.
Choose similar tones for your top and bottom (both dark or both light) so that one doesn’t look bigger than the other. White top, dark pants will make your top look bigger. White pants, dark top will make your butt look bigger.
Choose 1-3 colors for your group portrait, ones with similar tones that go nicely together and have everyone work within that color palette. For example: dark green, navy, and burgundy – all dark jewel tones. OR tan, a lighter olive green, and denims – all lighter, softer tones. So that we see the people first and your portrait looks stunning. Wedding group photos look so good because they’re all wearing the same colors and the people stand out!
Choose a top with sleeves at least to the elbow because your arms take up more skin area than your face and will draw attention and it may also make your arms look larger. from the toolbar.
Choose long pants for men/ladies or a skirt below the knee for ladies so that your legs don’t take attention from your faces, and you will be able to sit and bend without showing too much leg.
Choose dark socks and footwear (unless it’s a barefoot photo) because white just sticks out like a sore thumb and that’s all you’ll notice in your portrait.
Keep jewelry simple and minimalistic because too much draws attention from your face.
Do your hair the way you’d normally do it while wearing these clothes – no fancy up dos with jeans, no pony tails with evening gowns, etc. It is because your portrait will be more timeless and represent more closely who you are, not just what you look like.”
If you are getting a haircut or new hairdo, make your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to your portrait session. Fresh haircuts rarely look their best the same or next day. Ladies need time to practice working it, men need it to grow out just a little. Allow some time to live with your new look before your portrait session.
